Fractional Controller services for construction & growing businesses
Fractional Controller Services

Strategic financial oversight without the full-time cost

Get an experienced controller leading your finances part-time. You get the planning, oversight and insight of a senior finance professional, scoped to what your business needs and priced accordingly.

What is a fractional controller?

Senior financial leadership, on your terms

A controller owns the accuracy and integrity of your financial information. They run the close, oversee accounting staff and processes, produce the reports leadership relies on, and turn the numbers into decisions.

A fractional controller does all of that for a portion of the time and cost of a full-time hire. It's ideal when your business has outgrown basic bookkeeping but doesn't yet need, or can't yet justify, a full-time finance executive.

Bookkeeper

Records transactions and keeps the books current. Essential, but focused on what happened.

Best fit for growing businesses

Fractional Controller

Oversees the whole accounting function, ensures accuracy, delivers reporting and analysis, and guides what to do next, part-time.

Full-time Controller / CFO

A full-time executive salary and benefits. Often more than a small or mid-sized business needs.

FAQ

Common questions

How is a fractional controller different from a bookkeeper?

A bookkeeper records transactions and keeps the books current. A controller oversees the whole accounting function: they make sure the numbers are accurate, run the close, produce management reporting, and use the results to guide planning and decisions. Many of our clients keep their bookkeeper and add us for the oversight and strategy.

How much of your time will my business get?

It depends on your needs. Engagements are scoped individually, from a set number of hours each month to more regular involvement during busy periods or growth phases. We'll recommend a level of support after the financial assessment.

Do you only work with construction companies?

No. We have specialized experience with construction companies and contractors, and we also work with small businesses, growing companies and non-profit organizations.

Do you work with QuickBooks?

Yes. We work extensively with QuickBooks and help with QuickBooks setup, migration from older desktop versions and clean-up.
